The Flemish Opera / Royal Ballet Flanders have an immediate opening for a company manager for the ballet company – full-time (m/f). As a company manager for the ballet you are the right hand of the Artistic Director, the artistic team and the dancers. You are the first point of contact for all practical and organizational matters and ensures that the ballet company itself can fully engage with its artistic mission. Your office will be based in Antwerp at the ballet’s headquarters at ‘t Eilandje, but you will be on tour with the company throughout the year, including regular seasons at Antwerp and Ghent opera houses, throughout Belgium and around the world. You work flexible hours in a 6 day work week.
Assis Carreiro, artistic director of the Royal Ballet of Flanders, is delighted to announce the following promotions and new dancers for season 2013-2014. This will be the first complete season under her artistic leadership. In total the Royal Ballet of Flanders welcomes 11 new dancers, bringing the total up to 45 dancers and 4 apprentices from 18 different nationalities.
The Fundraising Gala of the Royal Ballet of Flanders is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The Gala will be postponed to a later date in 2014. Check the website for updates and future announcements.
On 7 and 8 September 2013, the Royal Ballet of Flanders joins the Flemish Opera and the deFilharmonie again for the annual Classics in the City. These two days of performances offer audiences an opportunity to enjoy free ballet, opera and classical music all in the open air theatre at Sint Jans Plein. On Saturday evening, 7th September from 8:30pm, the Royal Ballet Flanders takes to the stage performing for highlights from the classical repertoire and the new season.
In the context of the upcoming merger between the Royal Ballet Flanders and the Flemish Opera, together with the appointment of Lena De Meerleer as general manager from September 1st, the Board of Directors has released from their contracts the Administrative Directors of both organistions from August 1st.
